App Store Final Push

We are making our final development push to get the app on the App Store. We are entering Card Table into the BYU Mobile App Competition. The Analytics portion of the competition begins February 11 and runs through February 25. That is when we need the most love. We stand to win $3500! Mostly though, we are excited to finish Card Table so we can start using it ourselves. Our last several game nights have been full of "wouldn't it be nice if we had Card Table for this?" moments.

We will let you know when it is ready for download. Stay tuned, and remember to play an unusually large number of games from Feb 11-25.

And for a sneak peak into the life of a developer, here's a picture and a message Porter sent to Todd and Brendan this week:

This looks really cool guys. I think these bluetooth / wifi based games are going to continue to grow. I like that it doesn't enforce a game on you too that is nice. Does it keep track of score?

Not right now. That may come as a Free Play feature in the future. We do plan to build scorekeeping into the various game modes in the future.

Android is going to be a difficult problem to tackle. We're using a new feature in iOS 7 called the Multipeer Connectivity Framework to handle the peer-to-peer connections. Right now it works exclusively with iOS devices. Apart from that, for security reasons Apple especially works to restrict the ability of devices to communicate peer-to-peer. When we hear of a way to make peer-to-peer communication possible cross-platform then we will be happy to port The Card Table to Android.

Looks nice. Hope you will finish it and it will be very popular among users. It always amazed me when people have such a great dedication and love towards what they are doing. It's wonderful. I wish I could find something that good in my life. But all I have is just a routine job to pay my bills
